Forest Clearance

Forest Clearance is a process through which the Central and State Government grants permission to clear or use forest land for non-forest purposes. Forest land is protected by various laws such as the Van (Sanrakshan Evam Samvardhan) Adhiniyam, 1980. (forest conservation act 1980) and Forest Policy, Which emphasize the need for forest conservation.

Forest Clearance is granted for construction and societal welfare projects such as Drinking Water (Wells, Lakes, Canals), Irrigation (Dams), Electricity Generation, Railway Lines, Highways, Defense-related projects, Mining, etc. However, Forest Clearance is required before any such project can be initiated on forest land.

Environmental laws apply to Forest Clearance, and project proponents must apply for environmental clearance before starting any activity on forest land. The concerned department reviews all the documents submitted by the project proponent and then decides whether to grant or reject the permission.

Wildlife Clearance

Wildlife plays a crucial role in conserving and maintaining ecological balance. The government passed the first comprehensive legislation related to the conservation and protection of wildlife on September 9th, 1972.

Wildlife is a precious gift of nature, which includes not only wild animals but also all other undomesticated creatures like birds, insects, reptiles, mollusks, and so on. Every animal has its value and place in the food chain, and if any animal disappears from the food chain, it can cause drastic changes in the entire chain. Together, all these food chains result in the food web.

Unfortunately, many animals are at risk of becoming endangered due to human activities that interfere in their habitat. Development projects and farming are some of the reasons for habitat destruction. Poaching and hunting for animal fur, meat, and leather are some of the most obvious reasons for wildlife extinction.

To protect the wildlife and their habitat, the Wildlife Clearance is a clearance or permission reqired as per guidelines of Hon. Supreme Court. Which Passes through the SBWL & NBWL.
